Access Floors Ltd was appointed by 8Build to deliver the specialist flooring package for the complete refurbishment of the No1 Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3. Located within a live airside environment, the project demanded meticulous planning, precise coordination and the highest standards of workmanship to ensure successful delivery without disrupting airport operations.

The scope of works included the installation of a raised access flooring system with a 250mm service void and integrated access ramps, providing a flexible infrastructure solution while maintaining full accessibility throughout the lounge. The project also featured high-quality ceramic wall and floor tiling to the washrooms, bar and kitchen areas, alongside premium herringbone walnut timber flooring throughout the main lounge and durable vinyl flooring within the back-of-house kitchen spaces.

One of the project's greatest challenges was the restricted working environment. All materials, equipment and finished products had to be transported via a confined service lift within the secure airside zone, requiring careful scheduling, efficient logistics and close collaboration with the wider project team.

Despite these constraints, the refurbishment was completed to an exceptional standard, showcasing Access Floors Ltd's ability to successfully deliver complex commercial flooring projects in demanding operational environments. The finished lounge provides a welcoming, high-quality space for travellers while demonstrating the precision, craftsmanship and professionalism that underpin every Access Floors installation.
